Wedding Feast

Mt 22:1-14 is the famous wedding Feast Parable by Jesus.

My reflections are three points this morning

1. The calling of the Master
-- We are all called to attend His feast out of the kindness of the King of heaven.But most people have no response ,either out of negligence or whatever too busy personal /private reasons.
We have to pay the cost ourselves someday with our responses.

2. The unworthiness of those called
-- The kindness of the King of kings just shows us that all who are called are not worthy in the very first sense. We even have no claims for our own with the invitations. But we appear so often in a haughty way to be the guest of the King of heaven. We have to be humble in repentance in our relationships with the Lord our master.

3. The preparation of the called
-- The called guests have to be prepared for the feast or the master will not be pleased. Are we prepared for the Kingly feast ? Are we ready for attending the feast ?

Neglect our calling may be a tragedy.
Unawareness of our status and identity is even a tragic thing.
Going unprepared should be a warning too in our present walk with Him.

Proverbs 21: 22-25

There are four kinds of men

The wise,the prudent,the haughty and the lazy

The wise :
Wisdom is superior to the muscle man
The prudent :
Careful in our speech saves us from trouble
The haughty :
Man having pride in his heart shows forth contempt
The lazy :
Would Kill himself finally because of sloth

Lord ! Help me to have your wisdom and not just reliant on own strength
Forbid me to be frivolous and say improper words
Be humble before you and men
Make me diligent in daily service and enjoy lives.

A Joyful Spirit

Psalm 100 is a joyful psalm.

All people should come to praise the Lord ! A kind of triumphant outlook and calling voice.

We are His sheep on the pastures. A kind of assured self-satisfied knowledge.

Sing along entering His gate. A kind of confidant forward marching steps.

Because we have a Good and Loving and Faithful God. A kind of proud and optimistic worship.

Answer and uplift me in Psalm 20

King David expereinced God's answering and uplifting him in his down days
Through the following acts and meditations.

1. Think of His santuary and help from Zion
2. Ask Hm to remember man's pious offering
3. Boldly request His answer in our needs and wishes.
4. Uphoist His banner before the enemies
5. Reliance on His great Name

God's help to David

Psalm 18 altogether with 50 verses.

Verse 21-22 and verse 30 mention of God's word and His commandment which David sees to it in his life. Out of it men experience Him as their shield.

What is man ?

Can present day man tell God he loves Him？(v.1)
Can current men admit that God is their strength ?

Notice David 's eightfold descriptions in verse two of his relationships with this God !

Shall we love God in this age amid numerous distractions ?

Who are the Fools ?

Psalm 14 helps us to answer this question.

Those who are :

1. With no God in their hearts
2. Unwillingness to do good
3. No understanding and pursuit of God
4. Go own way and astray
5. Not praying to God

In response to not being a fool,we should be
1. Expereincing God's promised presence
2. Taking God's our Refuge.
3. Joy in God' salvation

Psalm 30

King David experienced the Lord in the following way.

He asked the Lord for His mercy in helping him,strengthen his rule,saving his soul.

We have to know the Lord both individually and in our ministry and work.

How's our own image and identity ?

David understood himself as dust before the Lord ?

Shall we have humility before Him !
