The Vine and the branches

John 15:1-8 is always a good reminder to our relationship with the Lord.

He is the True Vine and we are His branches.
He is the master and we are His servants.

We are reminded to be always in Him.

The result being that He would be in us. (v.4)
The result being that His words would be in us . (v.7)
The result being that we could bear more fruits . (v.5)
The result being that the Father would be glorified. (v.8)


Our roots must be deep enough to be in Him always
that we can grow upwards and bear more fruits.

A branch will bear fruit

Isaiah 11 mentions a branch from Jesse.
This branch will bear fruit.
The Spirit of the Lord would rest on him

• Of Wisdom & Understanding

• Of Counsel & Power

• Of knowledge and Fear of the Lord

The Spirit of Wisdom & Understanding refer to our Administrative Problem Solving
The Spirit of Counsel & Power refer to our Tactics & military Presentation
The Spirit of Knowledge & fear of the Lord refer to our Religious Piety & Purity

May our Mind, Heart and Will all be yours Lord!

Why do you stand afar ?

Psalm 10 starts with such a cry! Lord ! Why do you stand far away ?

It's a phrase used when we find ourselves in anguish and pain losing sight of our Lord !

The hiddenness of God is a mystery to us !

Why do God keep Himself away from us when we need Him urgently ?
When injustices abound and good people suffer,where is He ?

Men are so self-centred with pride,haughtiness,boasts,greediness & lies.
Without God men become his own master with own independence.

Amid this evil picture bursts forth the above cries in darkness.

Why so many victims among injustices ?
Why evil men are numerous ?
Why O Lord allow wicked men to do as they like ?

But the truth is two fold in this psalm

1. The Lord is King forever (v.16)
2. The Lord is Helper of the fatherless (v. 14)


May I perceive your mystery O Lord !
You are stilll King and the protection of the weak !
